Valentine's Day

Your probably asking what's trail mix got to do with Valentine's Day?Well, I have 4 children and making 4 gifts for teachers sometimes gets expensive. I wanted to come up with something easy. I was thinking a candy treat or flowers but then I thought maybe that's all the teachers get from their students. So I thought of a healthy snack instead and what a better way then to buy in bulk. So I came up with this....

1 cup of trail mix in a ziploc bag. I filled the decorative bag with red streamer or basket filler and then added the ziploc bag, tide up with curly string. I do still need to add the card but it's almost finished and days before valentines too.Cost: $10 for trail mix (only used half the bag so technically only half the cost $5)
the bags and filler I had on hand so free.

Summer Cover Up

If you're like me when it comes to going to a water activity in your swimsuit but hate to walking around in just my swim suit or wrapped in a towel then this is for you.....SO EASY! It took me longer time picking out the fabric then sewing it together. Have you seen this fabric before?? All I had to do is match the edges and sew a straight stitch. Oh yes, that's all. The nice bonus is that the edge is finished for you. It comes in many different choices plus they have some for your girls too! Finished product made less than 3 minutes...seriously! I haven't decided if I want to add some type of straps, that my come this summer after I figure if I like it without them or not.

Easy girls Tu-Tu Skirt - tutorial

Great for little girls birthday gift 3/4 inch elastic, measured waist of child, sew together. I sewed a little square.
Picked out cute ribbon to give the tu-tu a little more.Picked matching colors and cut the tulle into strips large 8 X (36 inches long) and small 8 x (24 inches long) Fold the tulle in half
Place the elastic on top of the folded tulle
Pull the edges of the tulle thru the loop on the tulle (notice the tulle on the top of my hand)
Pull tight to make a knot around the elasticrepeat. I made a pattern light pink, white, dark pink and added ribbon when I wanted more color (Same way I added the tulle. It was done at the same time) So FUN!
The little girl who got this skirt LOVED IT and wears it all the time.
Some trimming may need to be done based on the actual height of the little girl who gets the skirt, but she will surely love it!
