Caramel Popcorn

Doesn't this look YUMMY?well it is soooooooo yummy.
I've got a great recipe from my sister and there's a trick to it to make it taste even better than your average caramel popcorn. (if you look close you can see that the popcorn is sticky)
Do you want to know???
ok here it is (bake it in the oven after you mix the caramel mixture on it. The popcorn becomes crispy and ohhhh so yummy. Did I mention that already?
and if you want to you can drizzle melted almond bark or melted chocolate chips over the caramel popcorn for the extra sweetness.
patience is worth the wait!

Caramel Popcorn:
12 cups of popped popcorn or 1/2 c unpopped (you can either use microwave or pop your own)
1 c brown sugar
1/4 c corn syrup
3/4 stick of butter/margarine (which ends up to be 6 TBSP)
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 salt (if you use microwave popcorn no need to add extra salt)

How to: Make popcorn to your desire and set aside. Mix remainder of ingredients in sauce pan until it come to a boil. Once caramel mixture is boiled, in large bowl pour popped popcorn and pour caramel mixture over popcorn *not all popcorn may fit in bowl so adjust how much of the mixture you need to and save for the remainder of the plain popcorn that still needs caramel. Stir and mix together, once the caramel mixture is evenly coated on the popcorn you can do one of two things.

2 options:
you can eat the caramel popcorn you just mixed, leave as is.....sticky and good or
Bake @ 250* for 30 minutes - stir/mix popcorn every 10-15 minutes for an even crisp to each piece. Once removed from oven, I lay out the popcorn flat on a open brown grocery bag. This will cool the popcorn quick for the little fingers to eat or you can add more.....

option: melt almond bark or chocolate chips and drizzle over caramel popcorn.

Can I say yUmMy!! Thanks sis for sharing with me and the kiddos........they LOVE IT!

This can be used for a little girls birthday invitations or even a card on a gift!
I went crazy with card making but love how simple there are to make....especially when you make mass quantity of the same card.

I just 1 - 12 x 12 paper cut it into equal papers to make 12 cards, adhered each rectangle with a little glue to each card, sewed it down at a diagonal, stamped the cute cake on a white piece of card stock, glued that down and added cute ribbon tied in knots. So simple so cute!
